TechnologyBelow is the main menu screen for all the software tools.
The tools allow:
1. Team-to-style selection during planning.
2. Operator to task allocation.
3. Pre- production simulation.
All the tools will draw from the same database, and this is where this demonstration starts. We will not look at all the data in the system, but will examine data for Teams and for Styles.
Using the mouse, the user selects first the team menu.
This window shows team 3 classified as a good team comprised of four operators. More
detailed information about these operators is found in the Operators database.
Returning from the Teams data, we reach the main menu again. We now look at Styles by
selecting the appropriate menu.
The style number is associated with a complexity parameter: easy, moderate or difficult. A
style is comprised of a sequence of operations - which are entered by the user.
Returning from the styles data, we reach the main menu again. We now look at orders by
selecting the appropriate menu.
This is the first order in the order book. Style, Quantity, Earliest start date and Due
dates are entered by the user.
Back in the main menu, the TOOLS option is activated and the scheduling option selected.
