The Faculty offers the largest concentration of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in food, clothing, hospitality and related fields in the UK with over 3500 full-time, part-time and sandwich programme students.

Hollings Faculty is located three miles south of Manchester city centre and has excellent teaching and learning facilities. There are halls or residence and private accommodation located nearby, mote infomation can be found from our Accommodation office.

Central to the Faculty's work is the close relationship we enjoy with the industries in which our students find employment, both in the UK and abroad.  Most of our academic staff have worked within industry and they maintain their strong industry links which inform our teaching and the courses we develop.  This industry relationship is reinforced by our Sandwich degree placement programme, which gives our undergraduate students the opportunity to spend a year working and gaining valuable skills and experience.

The Department is internationally recognised as a leader in the area of clothing design and technology*.  The Department of Clothing Design and Technology offers a range of undergraduate and post-graduate taught programmes and research degree opportunities.

The scope of activities within the department connects us with a wide range of external organisations including industrial, commercial and professional bodies.

Our courses cover all facets of the fashion supply chain, helping to give students a creative and technical appreciation of the fashion industry as well as an understanding of the business.
